Greater Rochester Quality Council, a Rochester Business Alliance affiliate, announced finalists in three categories for the 2013 GRQC Performance Excellence Awards. The awards seek to discover, recognize, and learn from high performing organizations in the Greater Rochester area. Award recipients will be honored at the GRQC 8th Annual Showcase December 3 at Locust Hill Country Club.

GRQC Chair Carol Wilke said, "This year's finalists truly are the best of the best. We are very excited about their achievements as well as their collaboration and willingness to share best practices. To get this much excellence in one room at our Showcase is sure to deliver plenty of ideas for our members and guests to take back to their own organizations."

The GRQC Performance Excellence Awards finalists in the three categories are:

Operations Excellence: Unity Hospital, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Thompson Health, and the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Customer Excellence: ConServe and Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Team Excellence: Lifetime Health Medical Group, Rochester General Hospital PACU and PCAT teams, and Exelis - Geospatial Systems.

Award criteria emphasize results achieved and the effective use of performance improvement tools and practices such as lean, six sigma, or project management.

The GRQC 8th Annual Showcase at Locust Hill December 3 features exhibits by leading area organizations and an awards program with Greater Rochester Enterprise CEO Mark Peterson as Master of Ceremonies. The public is invited. Exhibits open at 5:30 p.m. The awards program starts at 7 p.m. To register, contact Susan George at (585) 256-4612 or
